- As to knowing whether you have and RPI type modem, I ran a program
- called PortInfo (trial version available at http://www.comminfo.com)
- and it indicated I didn't have an RPI type modem. At least the printout
- under Device detected it only listed "FAX,Modem" whereas in
- the example given it showed a modem as being identified as an RPI type
- along with a warning as to this modems limitations. I also used an
- included program called "BIOS_FIX" to correct an error message from the
- previous run of PortInfo which had indicated that my computer was not
- detecting the com port properly. The registered version ($20) is also
- supposed to go over and corrected your windows communication installation.
- The version to run under DOS however is there for the asking.
